This was a school project where I redesigned an existing Macon County website. The original site had good content but the layout and navigation made it hard for users to find what they needed. My goal was to take that existing information and restructure it into something much easier to navigate.
I redesigned and rebuilt the site using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap for responsive layout, then deployed it live through FileZilla. This is the only fully coded project in my portfolio.
Organized all county content into logical site sections.
Built the HTML with semantic tags and accessibility in mind.
CSS and Bootstrap for responsive layout and visual hierarchy.
JavaScript for navigation and interactive components.
Published to a live server via FileZilla and tested across devices.
Screenshots showing the redesign goals and outcomes.

Building a site with actual code is a completely different experience from designing in Figma. You're responsible for every pixel, every link, and every line of code. This project gave me a lot more confidence as a developer and showed me how much UX thinking goes into things that seem simple, like nav labels and page titles.
